Pay Rate:      £9.40 per hour

Main Responsibilities

Complete a hand-over with the night porter at the start and end of shift

Check the till float and sign off in the book.

Check the all blocks and walkways for trip and slip hazards.

Check that all fire exits, call points and fire extinguishers are free from obstruction.

Check all communal areas and switch off any unnecessary lights

Check bar fridges and restock as necessary

Deliver newspapers to residents’ apartments

Check the weather forecast and put cushions into storage if rain is expected

Be available at reception for the needs of residents and members throughout the day; for example for hot drinks and drinks from the bar

Wash all cutlery and crockery used at lunch service, put all use napkins and dirty table cloths in the washing machine, re-lay the tables in the restaurant so that it is ready for fresh

Check the toilets in the afternoon.  Clean and replenish hand towels and toilet roll as required

Tick off names of any residents that you have seen or heard from throughout the day.  Call any-one who hasn’t been seen or heard from in excess of three days to ensure they are ok.

Vacuum the carpets in offices and all communal area

Empty the bins –Office, toilets and the bar.

Cash up the till (unless there are evening clients here when the night porter comes on duty)
