Job Role: IT Governance & Vendor Manager 

Location: Any of our Offices 

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Job Sector: IT 

Hours:   ( 35 hours per week)

As the IT Governance & Vendor Manager, you will contribute to our vision of being the UKs favourite property manager by:

  • Leading and developing the Governance team to become effective business partners who collaborate with colleagues and partners across FirstPort
  • Ensure successful transition of digital transformation outputs to operations and support
  • Developing processes and establishing relationships to promote IT as a key business partner for the business

This role reports to the Head of IT Operations and has a team of 3 direct reports.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define and publish a departmental strategy that demonstrates clear traceability through from the IT Vendor Management Framework to delivering tangible business benefits.
  • Through the management and development of the Governance team - proactively manage vendors and suppliers to allow FirstPort to extract maximum business benefit and costs efficiencies.
  • Through the management and development of the Governance team – ensure effective change management and control across Digital and IT, where changes to internal and hosted platforms require vendor and internal stakeholder engagement, actioning as appropriate.
  • Accountable for ongoing review of IT costs and finances to be able to proactively highlight risks and also opportunities which achieve synergies, highlighting to service owners/stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Help ensure excellent Supplier facing commercial and financial governance, compliance and risk management.
  • Serve as the primary central point of contact for external suppliers and stakeholders in all commercial and delivery issues.
  • Manage regular communication with key stakeholders via Supplier Governance Meetings on Operation, Tactical and Strategic Level using adequate level of information (i.e., Supplier Balanced Scorecard).
  • Pro-actively manage supplier related issues, risks and escalations ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure all management reporting is provided including Supplier performance reports, ensuring that key performance indicators are developed, achieved and maintained, requirements are addressed at source or escalated as needed.
  • Accountable for the effective and timely communication between key stakeholders to IT vendors

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills to drive alignment across cross—functional teams.
  • Broad knowledge of the IT industry and the products and services provided by technology vendors.
  • Working knowledge of contract management and negotiation.
  • Analytical proficiency to implement a methodology measuring success KPIs.
  • Experience of managing IT suppliers (including and up to Tier 1).
  • Demonstrates a depth of Vendor Management commercial awareness experience within a Procurement function.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing Vendor Management process, policy and tools.
  • Ideally presents a degree of traditional IT Procurement experience as a compliment to expertise in Vendor Management.
  • Passionate and committed leader who can motivate, encourage and communicate with direct reports, partners and colleagues at all levels
