Job Role: M & A Regional Manager 

Location: Luton 

Job Sector: Customer Services 

Hours:   (35 hours per week)

As the M&A Regional Manager, you will contribute to our vision of being the UKs favourite property manager by:

Assisting with the due diligence of mergers and acquisitions, to include inspecting properties nationwide, assessing the management of the portfolio and identifying good management, risks and opportunities

Assisting with the integration of mergers and acquisitions, to include supporting the SLT within the acquired businesses to deliver consistency and stability in service to customers and across their operational teams

This role reports to the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, working in a wider team with the potential to oversee management responsibilities, with regular nationwide travel.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct both desktop and on-site due diligence of target companies and their portfolios

Inspect properties across the country and assess the management of the portfolios identifying evidence of good management, risks and opportunities

When assessing a shortlist of properties as part of a desktop exercise, understand the management structures and the risks and opportunities associated with them. This includes reviewing management agreements, leases, accounts, H&S risk assessments and compliance records

Support the integration of the portfolio into FirstPort systems and processes whilst identifying any gaps in our processes or ways of working, suggest new procedures and continually strive to improve our service

Collaborating and liaising with relevant departments within FirstPort and other project workstream leads to ensure integration happens in an efficient and timely manner

Attend regular meetings internally and externally with senior leaders and key stakeholders

Coach and influence key stakeholders to demonstrably improve our employee integration experience, assist in developing structures which reflect current and future business needs

Engage with new colleagues in newly acquired businesses, be a FirstPort ambassador and lead the new colleagues through change

Support action plans, monitor risk and assist with corrective actions for “at risk” schemes ensuring preventative measures are in place for those that are vulnerable

Support the SLT in acquired business in trouble shooting operational issues to ensure service delivery is consistent and stable across the operational teams

Encourage and foster innovation and best practice, sharing and collaborating across FirstPort teams to share and embed best practice, new ideas, and to maximise commercial advantage

Skills and Experience

Senior Property Manager or Regional Manager with significant experience in residential property management, to include experience within a senior management position, preferably with IRPM or RICS qualifications

Operational and project management experience is essential, ideally with M&A, as well as strengths in collaborating and bringing teams together to deliver solutions

Strong technical knowledge – good awareness of operational structures, service charge accounts and legal documentation

Able to work at pace and bring energy to drive and deliver project work

Resilient and able to work under pressure in challenging situations, with the ability to adapt to meet changeable deadlines

Able to understand management structures and quickly assess properties from visual inspections, accounts and other management information

Demonstrable ability in dealing with problems and challenges effectively

Able to lead meetings with key internal and external stakeholders at senior level

Confident in working with all levels of people and influence effectively, with the ability to develop and nurture new relationships

Change management experience

Confident user in MS Office packages, experience with CRM systems is desirable

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; competent presenter and a high level of attention to detail
